The Hopewell Public Library Board of Trustees seeks citizen volunteers to fill one or more expected vacancies on the Library Board. Board members are appointed by the Mayor of Hopewell Borough to five-year terms, or to fill the unexpired term of a former trustee. The Board of Trustees is an autonomous body responsible for establishing policies to support and improve library services to the community, managing all library property and assets, and ensuring that the library operates in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. The day to day operation of the library is under the supervision of a library director who reports to the Board.
Board members are expected to act as advocates for the library, attend monthly meetings and be willing to serve as needed on working committees. Applicants should be familiar with the Hopewell Public Library. Hopewell Borough residence preferred but not required.
Please submit expressions of interest to the Director, Hopewell Public Library, 13 East Broad Street, Hopewell, NJ 08525, or by e-mail to rbidnick@redlibrary.org.
