BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!

Wow! The library has an amazing collection of new books.
Can't you just imagine the feeling of being snuggled under a warm blanket, dog or cat by your side, a cup of warm soup to sip and a great book to read all while the wind is howling.

Some of our new titles include...
Exile
by Richard North Patterson; the prequel to Silence of the Lambs called Hanibal Rising by Tomas Harris; a Martha Grimes thriller called Dust; a title proclaimed as "on the rise" by Book Sense called Terror by Dan Simmons. We also have a wonderful book called You Suck; A Love Story - just in time for Valentine's Day - by Christopher Moore, sweet title isn't it...
Hopewell resident, Hannah Suthers, has written a novel called Not by force but by GOOD WILL. Hannah was featured in the Hopewell Valley News over the summer; she's already led a very accomplished life, and now adds published author to her long list! Congrats Hannah!
And, for those of you who are hidden beneath the clutter of your messy desk, take heart! A new book entitled A Perfect Mess may help you trust your instinct to keep your piles just as they are!
But there's more! We've added new cook books, new magazines and new music.
As a reminder we have four laptop and two desktop computers at your service. If you want to be certain a computer is available, you may call to reserve a time spot: 466-1625.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing the BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS! (And everything else!)

Be a Critic - LINK?

Our Friday, February 2, 2007 posting - "Be a Critic", contains a link to a chapter of a novel written by Loriann Fell. The link was tested before it was included in the Posting. We have since received reports that even if you are signed into www.Gather.com, clicking the link causes the following to be displayed:

"article unavailable"

"You either do not have permission to view this article or it has been removed.
If the article is private, you must be signed in for permission to access it."

We are investigating and will post an update.

Be a Critic

Many fans of Hopewell Public Library know our resident writer/author Loriann Fell. When Loriann isn't teaching at Rowan University, Loriann helps the library with publication editing, working the front desk on the odd Saturday or evening shift and she led a very successful memoir class, last winter, at the library.
We are pleased to invite you to read a chapter of Loriann's novel on a website called Gather. Please see the link below and follow directions to sign up. The selection is for mature audiences. In other words, parental discretion is advised.

Loriann Fell teaches College Composition I and II. She earned an M.A. in English-Creative Writing from Rutgers University in Camden, and a B.A. in Journalism from Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

She works as a writer and editor; The Newark Star Ledger and The New York Times are among the publications in which her work has appeared. She writes plays, essays, and fiction and is currently at work on a screenplay.
