Register Now! Come to the Hopewell Public Library between June 23rd until July 2nd .

June 23rd thru August 20th - 8 weeks

THE HOPEWELL PUBLIC LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM BEGINS!!

What? A program to encourage children to continue to develop their reading skills over the summer weeks and to appreciate the world of literature. This year's theme is One World, Many Stories. Readers are encouraged to discover stories and authors from around the world, and to discover new worlds through literature and to develop an appreciation for our common humanity.

Who can Participate? This program is designed for school age children from grades K-15, but younger children can participate if their parents/caregivers will read books to them each week.

Goal- to read 20 chapter books, or 800 minutes. Pre- readers should try for 5 picture books each week for a goal of 40 books.

Teens- We can use your help!! Consider volunteering to help a children's activity or general help at the library.

Register Now! Come to the Hopewell Public Library between June 23rd until July 2nd . Sign up and you will be given a Reading Record Passport where you will write down the book titles you have read, or you may record the number of minutes you read each night.

How it Works-Come to the front desk each week and get your passport stamped when you show us what you've read. If you read a book from the featured continent, you will receive a special sticker. Collect 4 stickers and receive a prize. Complete your goal of 20 books or 800 minutes by August 20th. You will receive certificate of completion and a coupon for a free ice cream, courtesy of Boro Bean! You may also enter your name for a raffle for a Tee- shirt to be given out at the End of Summer Party.

Are you Going on a trip? Take Hopewell Harry (or Harriet) with you!!

Come to the Library and sign out Hopewell Harry. Take him/her with you on your trip. Take a photo of yourself and Harry and we will post it at the Library. Send us a postcard too! We can track Harry's adventures and see how far around the world he gets!
