Nancy B. Kennedy
— "How We Did It ..."
Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 7:00 pm
The Railroad Station, Railroad Place, Hopewell, N.J.
On Wednesday January 4th, Hopewell Borough resident, Nancy B. Kennedy, is back to talk about her newest book, "How We Did It: Weight Loss Choices that Will Work for You!".
Last May, as part of our Wednesday Night Out series, Nancy told inspiring stories from military chaplains from her book, Miracles & Moments of Grace. This coming January, Nancy will be telling the stories of those who have succeeded at their goal of weight loss, whether that means 20 pounds or 220 pounds. These stories will inspire, inform and encourage you to find a weight loss plan that will work for you. Nancy will talk about her own success story of dropping 30 pounds and three dress sizes by taking the plunge--literally!--swimming laps at a local gym. Weight loss plans are too often presented as one-size-fits-all propositions.
How We Did It compares the wide gamut of weight loss programs--South Beach,
the Zone, Atkins, Thin Within, First Place, Weight Watchers and many more--and shows how weight loss seekers have succeeded using these popular plans or by creating their own unique recipe for success. How We Did It is a resource for both inspiration and information. With chapters that cover everything from childhood obesity to bariatric surgery, the book will help millions of adults who are struggling with their weight. In inspiring profiles, readers meet others just like them who may have tried and failed to lose weight, but who finally found a way to success that suited their lifestyle, personality, spirituality and internal values. They did it--and so can you!

Holiday Tech: Gadgets and Gifts
What's all this about smartphones and tablets and e-book readers? Was Steve Jobs right to envision the smartphone as the do-everything device, and the tablet as a replacement for a laptop? Or do you still need a separate phone, camera, media player, and other devices?
On Wednesday, Dec. 7th, 7pm, at the Hopewell Train Station, Hopewell Borough resident, Doug Dixon is back for his annual round-up of this year's crop of tempting new gadgets, to explore the latest possibilities for our mobile and connected lifestyle. He will discuss and demo the latest consumer products, and ponder the deep questions -- iPhone or Android, iPad or Kindle, paper or plastic -- and look at new options for wireless entertainment, storage, and sharing.
Douglas Dixon, is an independent technology consultant, author, and speaker specializing in digital media and portable devices. Previously a product manager and software developer at Intel and Sarnoff in Princeton, he now consults in commercial and military technology analysis and communications, and provides expert witness services.
